The Music Wall

December 2, 2024

While we’ve only been hosting families since July, 2021, I had noticed that large families with lots of kiddo’s were attracted to Hidden Haven. As we know, with little ones comes lots of noises, like banging objects inside the house and the clang-clang sort of sounded like my pots and pans.

We provided lots of musical toys for them, but it seemed as though little Jack and Jill enjoyed finding kitchen utensils to use for drumsticks to make the most annoying noises throughout our rental.

I was convinced that I could come up with a solution to a growing problem. Ah-ha! I began searching the internet and found Pinterest full of ideas. The best one was to build a music wall outside FAR AWAY from the house. I found multiple ideas for such a wall, and I got to work with some pallets I had already accumulated. I began looking around our house, garage, and storage areas at home for anything that would make loud noises. I found foil pans, coffee cans, bells, and some corrugated plastic. I then made a trip to our local Goodwill store and found inexpensive pots, pans, and tin containers. With a few screws, some rope, paint, and lots of enthusiasm, I came up with a music wall…of sorts! Lastly, I attached some plastic sticks to the pallet and hung the wall on the children’s playhouse outside.

The indoor problem has been solved! The kiddo’s absolutely LOVE the music wall, and their parents enjoy playing with them as well. We will keep adding more ideas and items to the wall as it continues to evolve.

Many have heard of Sasquatch (aka Bigfoot), but not everyone has actually SEEN him. Well, here’s my story about seeing him!
